About this file

This document is a Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services notice of intent to conduct a single-source procurement for the lease of up to 90 AMC Model 2700 juice extractors from Brown International Corporation, LLC. The extractors are used to evaluate the maturity of citrus delivered to processing plants throughout the state, as required under Chapter 20-34.001(2), F.A.C. The contract term is from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023. Brown International Corporation holds the patents for the AMC 2700 extractor, and there are no equivalent machines available from other sources.

The estimated contract value is $351,000. The cost of leasing the extractors is reimbursed by the individual processing plants. This is not a request for bids or proposals, but rather a statutorily mandated advertisement of the intended single-source procurement. Prospective vendors are invited to provide information regarding their ability to supply the required commodities or services, and the agency will review any responses received before making a final decision.
