About this file

This document describes an intended single source purchase (PUR 7776) by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for laboratory supplies and fixtures, specifically antibody test kits for piroplasmosis. The agency has identified VRMD, Inc. as the sole source manufacturer and supplier of the required USDA-licensed test kits. The estimated value of the contract is $65,000 and the term is from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024.

The justification for the single source acquisition is that VRMD, Inc. is the sole source manufacturer and supplier of the required test kits. The agency has confirmed the unavailability of competition for these specialized products. Prospective vendors are requested to provide information regarding their ability to supply the required commodities or services. If it is determined that the commodities or services are available only from a single source, the agency will provide notice of its intended decision to enter into a single-source purchase contract.
