About this file
This is a Scope of Work document for fire extinguisher inspection services to be provided to the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Law Enforcement Section, District 2. The inspection will be conducted at the Rainbow City Recreation Center, located at 4412 Rainbow Drive, Rainbow City, Alabama, and will cover extinguishers located in officers' vehicles and boats. The inspection must be completed on July 28, 2026, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with the vendor required to coordinate scheduling around an officers' training and meeting scheduled for that same date and location. All inspections and maintenance must be performed by certified technicians in compliance with NFPA 10 requirements. The vendor must submit certification and proof of insurance with the bid. The scope includes inspection of 40 2.5-pound ABC fire extinguishers, 40 5-pound ABC fire extinguishers, and one 10-pound ABC fire extinguisher. The contract is structured as an annual agreement with renewal options up to five years or $25,000 in total value, whichever occurs first, with the contract subject to annual review by both parties. Vendors will receive notification of subsequent inspection dates, times, and locations at least two months in advance.
The bid includes three line items: Line 1 covers inspections only at a fixed price; Line 2 is a quotable line for parts, recharging, maintenance, six-year and twelve-year maintenance, hydro tests, and any other required services, with vendors to enter $0.00 in the unit price column and submit percentage discounts in the line-item comment box; and Line 3 is a quotable line for replacement extinguishers, also requiring vendors to enter $0.00 in the unit price column with percentage discounts noted in the comment box. This is an "all or none" contract opportunity, meaning vendors must bid on all three line items or their bid will not be considered.
