About this file
This document is a set of specifications for live rainbow trout procurement by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, specifically District 3 Fisheries. The contract requires a vendor to deliver a total of 5,000 pounds of live rainbow trout over five separate deliveries, scheduled for the third Thursday of April, May, June, August, and September. Each delivery must consist of 1,000 pounds of trout, with fish averaging 12 inches in length (ranging from 11 to 13 inches) and weighing approximately 0.60 pounds (10 oz). The trout will be stocked directly below Lewis Smith Dam in the Sipsey Fork of the Warrior River, located between Jasper and Cullman, Alabama, at specific GPS coordinates (33°56'23.0"N 87°06'25.6"W).
The specifications include detailed requirements for trout delivery, including delivery times between 8 AM and 6 PM CST, certification that trout are free of whirling disease, and a precise stocking method using a 10 ¾ inch diameter PVC pipe intake. The vendor must notify the District 3 Fisheries Supervisor at least three business days prior to each delivery and provide documentation of the number and weight of trout. Any trout delivered dead or moribund will be deducted from the total delivery invoice price. Alternative delivery dates can be arranged if environmental conditions are unsuitable, subject to coordination with the District 3 Fisheries Supervisor.
