About this file
This document is a Packaging Requirements specification (AFMC Form 158) for federal contract purchase instrument FD20302700032-00, Version 1, applicable to item 6115012465622HY. The specification establishes military packaging and marking standards in accordance with MIL-STD-2073-1 (Revision E) and MIL-STD-129 (Revision R).
The primary requirement addresses wood packaging material (WPM) compliance with United Nations-implemented restrictions on invasive species, particularly the pinewood nematode. All wooden components—including pallets, skids, load boards, pallet collars, boxes, reels, dunnage, crates, frames, and cleats—must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Centigrade (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for a minimum of 30 minutes. Certification and marking by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) is mandatory, with reference to International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM No. 15). All items must be packaged and marked per MIL-STD-2073-1 for military packaging and MIL-STD-129 for military marking. Shipping containers shall include standard military marking per MIL-STD-129, with additional requirements for unit serial numbers, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) names, or OEM model numbers as specified on the AFMC Form 158. The packaging specification was prepared by Richard R. Davis, Packaging Specialist at 406 SCMS/GULAA, on July 28, 2026.
