AMSC D. The data needed to acquire this part is not economically available.

AMSC H. The Government does not have sufficient, accurate, or legible data to purchase this part from other than the current source. This code is under review and will be updated when the review is complete.

The Government does not have adequate data, lacks rights to data, or both. It is not economical to buy the data or rights to thedata.

The Government does not own the data or rights to the data needed to purchase this part from another source. It is not economical to procure the data or rights to the data Acquisition of this item is restricted to Government approved source(s) because the item involves military sensitive technology.

The cost to the Government to breakout this part and acquire it competitively has been determined to exceed the projected savings over the life span of the part.

This part has been designated a high reliability part. Probability of failure would be unacceptable. The engineering activity has determined that data to define and control reliability limits cannot be obtained.

The design of this part is unstable. Engineering, manufacturing, or performance characteristics indicate that the required design objectives have not been achieved.

This “Flight Safety Critical Part” (FSCP) that has been designated a high reliability part under a formal reliability program. The safety of personnel and equipment requires high safety and reliability standards that will minimize the probability of failure.

This item is considered highly specialized component of a major weapon system. This part contains critical characteristics whose failure, malfunction or absence could cause a catastrophic failure resulting in loss or serious damage to the aircraft or cause engine shutdown resulting in an unsafe condition for personnel and the surrounding environment. Accordingly, Pratt & Whitney is the only source that has specifically and uniquely designed and manufactured this part for use by the military. Pratt & Whitney has met and exceeded the standards specified for quality and reliability from past productions of this item.

Thus, an award to any other source would result in substantial costs to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition and unacceptable delays in fulfilling agency requirements. Therefore, Pratt &Whitney is the only known source currently possessing the unique capabilities to manufacture this part and who can satisfy the Government’s requirement as described in Paragraph III.
