About this file

This document is a Market Survey issued by the Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS), Product Manager Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV) to collect information from industry on manufacturing capability for a hardkill active protective system to defeat top-attack threats on the Bradley M2 vehicle.

The survey seeks information on systems that can defeat drones, missiles, and kinetic threats attacking at elevation angles from 0 to 90 degrees, with specific requirements for power draw (peak of 50 amps objective, 150 amps threshold), weight (915 kg or less), and multi-shot capability (4 shots or more without reloading). Respondents must have the capability to export systems to countries like Ukraine. This is not a solicitation, and no contract will result from the survey. Responses are requested by April 22, 2024, and should be submitted to the POCs, Anna Phillips and Mallory Medley, at the email addresses provided. All questions and answers will be posted anonymously.

Market Survey

Bradley Hard Kill Top-Attack Protection

DESCRIPTION OF INTENT

The Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS), Product Manager Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV) is conducting a market survey to collect information from industry to determine current market manufacturing capability to integrate and produce a system at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 to defeat top-attack threats using a hard kill active protective system.

For purposes of this RFI, top-attack protection shall be defined as the ability to disable loitering munitions, drones, missiles and kinetic threats attacking at elevation angles from 0° to 90° in a manner that prevents them from penetrating the top, side, front and rear armor of the turret and hull of a Bradley M2 variant.

Systems must meet the following criteria:

Power: Peak power draw on the vehicle of objective of 50 amps or less, threshold 150 amps Weight: 915 kg or less for the entire system (A Kit and B Kit) Multishot: Four shots or more without reloading protecting vehicle top (includes complete turret and hull deck) Minimum range: Shall be inside the minimum arming range of all threats to include close-in threats such as rocket propelled grenades

Responses shall be limited to systems that are foreign exportable to other nations such as Ukraine.

This is a Market Survey; no contract will be awarded from this announcement. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation, nor is it a request seeking contractors to be placed on a solicitation mailing list. Response to this market survey is voluntary and no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this market survey and any follow-on information requests. Data submitted in response to this market survey will not be returned. No solicitation document exists at this time, and calls requesting a solicitation will not be answered. It is the responsibility of Industry, when providing any comments/responses, to properly mark such information that is considered proprietary or is otherwise restricted.
