A. PRESERVATION AND PACKAGING SHALL BE INSPECTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-2073-1 AND ANY

APPLICABLE CONTAINER SPECIFIATIONS.

B. CLEAN AND DRY ITEMS BY ANY SUITABLE PROCESS BEFORE APPLICATION OF PRESERVATIVE AND PACKAGING

MATERIALS.

C. PRESERVATION: SHOES SHALL BE ASSEMBLED INTO (8) TRACK SECTIONS. PRESERVATIVE SHALL BE APPLIED TO ALL EXPOSED UNPAINTED METAL SURFACES. PRESERVATIVE ON RUBBER COMPONENTS IS PERMISSIBLE.

APPLICATION MAY BE ACCOMPLISHED BY DIPPING, SPRAYING, OR BRUSHING.

D. EACH TRACK SHOE ASSY SHALL BE PERMANENTLY MARKED PER MIL-DTL-11891 WITH: (1) NSN, (2) MANUFACTURER’S NAME OR CODE NUMBER, (3) MONTH AND YEAR OF MANUFACTURE, AND (4) COMPOUND NUMBER. NO OTHER UNIT PACK MARKING IS REQUIRED. EXTERIOR IDENTIFICATION AND CONTRACT DATA

MARKINGS SHALL BE REQUIRED ON THE SHIPPING CONTAINER.

E. FOUR (4) TRACK SHOE SECTIONS (32 SHOE ASSEMBLIES TOTAL) SHALL BE BUNDLED AS ILLUSTRATED AND IN

ACCORDANCE WITH THE DETAILED REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH ON SHEET 2.

F. ALL LUMBER MEMBERS ILLUSTRATED ON SHEET 2 SHALL CONFIRM TO ONE OF THE FOLLOWING SPECIES OF WOOD: DOUGLAS FIR, TAMARACK, WESTERN LARCH, HEMLOCK, SOUTHERN YELLOW PINE, SOFT MAPLE, SWEETGUM, SYCAMORE, TUPELO, SOFT ELM, CALIFORNIA MAPLE, OR CALIFORNIA BLACK OAK.
