TRANSFER CASE WEIGHT IS 650 LBS. AND REUSABLE CONTAINER WEIGHT IS 687 LBS.

A. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS:

1. INSPECT THE PRESERVATION AND UNIT PACK IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-2073-1E.

2. INSPECT THE CONTAINER IN ACCORDANCE WITH A-A-52462, INCLUDING THE FIRST ARTICLE INSPECTION

REQUIREMENT.

B. FILL TRANSFER CASE TO OPERATING LEVEL. ROTATE MECHANISM TO ENSURE 100% COVERAGE OF PRESERVATIVE ON INTERNAL SURFACES. REMOVE DRAIN PLUG AND DRAIN EXCESS PRESERVATIVE.

REPLACE DRAIN PLUG SECURELY.

(NOTE: IF TRANSFER CASE HAS BEEN PREVIOUSLY RUN BY THE MANUFACTURER AND ALL INTERIOR

SURFACES HAVE BEEN COATED WITH THEIR APPROVED LUBRICANT, NO ADDITIONAL INTERNAL

PRESERVATION IS REQUIRED.)

C. APPLY TO UNPAINTED, UNPLATED EXTERIOR METALLIC SURFACES.

D. PACK TRANSFER CASE INTO REUSABLE CONTAINER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE INSTALLATION DECAL

LOCATED ON THE REUSABLE CONTAINER USING SUPPLIED HARDWARE.

E. PLACE 44 DESICCANT UNITS INTO DESICCANT BASKET AND CLOSE DESICCANT PORT COVER.

F. THE UNIT CONTAINER IS THE SHIPPING CONTAINER.

G. THE FOLLOWING SPECIAL MARKING SHALL BE APPLIED:

TRANSFER CASE ASSEMBLY SERIAL NUMBER SHALL BE STENCILED ON THE CONTAINER IN ACCORDANCE

WITH MIL-STD-129.
