B. FILL TO OPERATING LEVEL AND ROTATE TO COMPLETELY COVER ALL INTERNAL SURFACES. REMOVE

DRAIN PLUG AND DRAIN ASSEMBLY. REINSTALL DRAIN PLUG AND TORQUE TO 15-20 LB-FT.

C. ENCLOSE FLYWHEEL WITH WRAP MIL-PRF-3420, TYPE 1 COVERED WITH SECOND WRAP MIL-PRF-212, GRADE A. EXTEND BOTH WRAPS OVER THE TRANSMISSION’S ENGINE CONNECTING FLANGE. SECURE

WRAP AROUND FLANGE WITH TAPE.

D. COAT ALL UNPAINTED, UNPLATED EXTERIOR FERROUS METAL SURFACES, EXCEPT THE FLYWHEEL.

CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY OIL, GREASE OR ANY WAX BASE PRESERVATIVE COMPOUND TO THE

FLYWHEEL.

E. SECURE THE TRANSMISSION INTO THE CONTAINER USING THE SUPPLIED HARDWARE. INSTALLATION

DECAL IS LOCATED ON THE CONTAINER.

F. PLACE 42 UNITS OF DESICCANT INTO CONTAINER BASKET.

G. THE UNIT CONTAINER IS THE SHIPPING CONTAINER.

H. INSPECT THE CONTAINER IN ACCORDANCE WITH A-A-52462, INCLUDING THE FIRST ARTICLE INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS. INSPECT THE PRESERVATION AND UNIT PACK IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-2073-1.
