A. INSPECT PRESERVATION, UNIT PACK, AND PACKING IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-2073-1D AND THE APPLICABLE
CONTAINER SPECIFICATION.
B. CLEAN AND DRY ITEMS BY ANY SUITABLE PROCESS BEFORE APPLICATION OF PACKAGING MATERIALS.
C. WITH CYLINDER RODS FULLY RETRACTED, FILL WITH MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDED LUBRICANT.
THOUROUGHLY DRAIN EXCESS.
D. SEAL ALL OPENINGS WITH CAPS/PLUGS OF APPROPRIATE SIZE.
E. APPLY PRESERVATIVE TO ALL UNPAINTED/UNPLATED EXTERIOR SURFACES.
F. APPLY MATERIAL BETWEEN POINTS OF CONTACT OF ITEM WITH BLOCKING OR CONTAINER.
G. BLOCKING, BRACING, CUSHIONING AND IMMOBILIZATION OF THE ITEM(S) WITHIN THE CONTAINER SHALL MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF MIL-STD-2073-1D, INCLUDING THE APPLICABLE ROUGH HANDLING TEST.
H. BOX SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED OF 1" NOMINAL LUMBER WITH 2" NOMINAL LUMBER ENDS AND NO END CLEATS
