INSPECT THE PRESERVATION AND UNIT PACK IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-2073-1D. INSPECT PACKING IN ACCORDANCE WITH

MIL-STD-2073-1D AND THE APPLICABLE CONTAINER SPECIFICATION.

B. 12414438-009, TRANSMISSION, DRESSED, WITH CONTAINER, CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING:

1. TRANSMISSION, PART NUMBER 12378396-009.

2. CONTAINER, PART NUMBER 12414256, CONTAINER WEIGHT = 1040 LB.

C. PRESERVATION:

FILL TRANSMISSION TO OPERATING LEVEL WITH OPERATIONALOIL, ROTATE MECHANISM TO ENSURE COMPLETE COVERAGE. REMOVE DRAIN PLUG, DRAIN OPERATIONAL OIL AND REINSTALL DRAIN PLUG. TORQUE TO 18-24 FT-LBS.

IF INTERNAL PRESERVATION IS ACCOMPLISHED DURING MANUFACTURE AND IF MEASURES HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO PREVENT

CONTAMINATION, INTERNAL PRESERVATION SHALL NOT BE REPEATED.

APPLY MIL-PRF-16173, GRADE 4 TO ALL UNPAINTED, UNPLATED, EXTERIOR METALLIC SURFACES.

OPENINGS THAT PERMIT TRANSMISSION CONTAMINATION SHALL BE SEALED WITH SAE-AMS-T-22085, TYPE II TAPE OR CAPS / PLUGS

CONFORMING TO NAS847 (REPLACES MIL-C-5501).

D. PLACE 64 UNITS OF DESICCANT INTO CONTAINER DESICCANT BASKET.

E. THE UNIT CONTAINER IS THE SHIPPING CONTAINER.
