Text version
Older model of the tooling is used at PHNSY and there are no replacement parts available. Mechanics are trained & experienced in using the EFCO SL-15 model.
Obtaining the EFCO SL-15.02 will minimize churn, require minimal familiarization training & personnel understand safety requirements. Size of the machine fits shipboard configuration without having to remove additional interferences adding durations to the project schedule.
PSNS uses the same machine and will minimize training on a new machine when sharing resources (TAD).
Purchasing a different machine will require research & development, vendor training, mock-up training & procedure changes.
