The Gentex PureFlo Powered Purifying Respirators are the only commercially available all in one respiratory/PPE unit with head-mounted PAPRs that adequately meet the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard’s needs for head, face, and eye protection with HE/HF/HC filtration during radiological response. The PAPRs meet the Assigned Protection Factor of 100, without using belts or trailing hoses, which allows the units to be safely used with other anti-contamination clothing. It also allows the user to wear eyeglasses underneath the face shield or have facial hair without jeopardizing performance and provides constant airflow to the head and face. Alternate products will not be considered for award.
