About this file
This is a specification document for FME (Flame and Moisture Protective Equipment) Coveralls, NSN LLS048930, DOC 6149-7920.
The coveralls are one-piece outfits in medium green, constructed from a 65% polyester and 35% cotton blend weighing 5.5 to 8 ounces in a preshrunk, commercial-grade two-up, one-down twill weave. All seams must be double-stitched and fully finished. The garments require Velcro or equivalent hook-and-pile fastener tape on the front closure, pant cuffs, sleeve cuffs, and pocket tops. Each coverall features a full collar and a single front left-chest pocket of standard size, with no additional pockets or through holes permitted. The pant legs terminate with elastic stirrups reinforced with box-stitching. Available sizes range from Medium to XXX-Large with specified chest, inseam leg, and sleeve measurements, each with defined tolerances in inches. The coveralls must be preshrunk prior to government receipt, free of visible loose materials or debris, and labeled with the manufacturer's name and identifying number in a permanent, visible manner. Contractors must submit a certificate of compliance with each shipment confirming that all coveralls have been preshrunk per the special instructions requirement.
