About this file

This document is a Justification for Urgency (Simplified Acquisitions $15,000 to $350,000) for a material with document number 5282-1356, required by DLA Weapons Support (Puget Sound). The critical material is needed to perform scheduled ship maintenance, with Blusa Defense Manufacturing identified as the suggested source. The urgency stems from a material shortage identified approximately one year ago, with the stock system unable to replenish in time to meet the ships' maintenance schedule requirements.

The document indicates a Required Delivery Date of 150 Days After Receipt of Order (ARO), with a specific delivery deadline of 12/02/2025. The procurement is urgent because failure to obtain the material will prevent the ship from returning to service, potentially causing significant financial losses. Only one suitable vendor was previously able to fulfill a quote request, and the full quantity of the material is required to support the ship's maintenance timeline. The contracting officer certified the urgency statement on 10/1/2025, with the final document dated 12/02/2025.

Approximately one year ago a shortage of this material was identified. The stock system is not scheduled to replenish in time to meet ships maintenance schedule requirements. Requests for quotes were submitted at that time. Only one suitable vendor full filled the request for quote but that required multiple submissions and regular follow ups to obtain a completed quote.

The full quantity of the JML DOC# 5282-1356 is required to plan work on a timeline that supports the ships maintenance schedule
