The materials of construction shall have a lower density than that of water so there are no “air” tanks or cavities that rely on being air tight. The interior cavities of the separator shall be designed to completely flood with water.Construction materials shall be all structural fiberglass materials and 316 stainless steel, making the structure maintenance free for the entire life of the structure (25+ years). Assembly shall include the following items:The unit shall be shipped in at least two modules to an assembly site on-base (at a location designed by the government).Two (or more) modules at 12’ deep x 20’ long x 11’ tall shall be shipped to the site. These sections shall be structurally bonded and bolted together at the assembly site. The arch fenders would be bolted in place.The separators shall then be placed in the water by the contractor (i.e. via a mobile crane). The freeboard and trim shall be adjusted as required.CONTRACTOR ASSEMBLY AND SET-UP SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED The specified equipment and all associated equipment shall be assembled, set-up and tested by the contractor in the area(s) designated as its functional work area by the Receiving Activity Point of Contact.The contractor shall provide all personnel, and supplies necessary for the complete assembly and set-up of the proposed system (except as noted elsewhere in the attached specifications).
