About this file

This Special Packaging Instruction (SPI) details packaging requirements for a Head-Up Display Monitor (National Stock Number 1270-01-514-2683), with specific military preservation and packaging specifications. The document outlines detailed packaging instructions for a military-grade monitor, including precise dimensional requirements, cushioning specifications, and international wood packaging material standards. The packaging must comply with MIL-STD-2073 preservation methods, with separate requirements for serviceable and unserviceable items, and includes specific marking instructions using SPI number F01-279-4724.

The document emphasizes strict packaging protocols, including requirements for wooden packaging materials that must be heat-treated to 56 degrees Centigrade for 30 minutes and constructed from debarked wood. The packaging must be certified by an American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) accredited agency. The detailed instructions include specific measurements for container dimensions, cushioning, barrier bags, and other packaging components, with multiple levels of packaging specifications (Level A and Level B) to ensure proper protection during transportation and storage.
