This special packaging instruction document provides specifications for packaging a fire extinguisher under National Stock Number 4210-01-700-4780. The packaging must include specific foam pads of defined sizes and materials to cushion the fire extinguisher within the container. GENERATED AND SIGNED BY A QUALIFIED INDIVIDUAL OR THEIR DELEGATE. PROOF OF CERTIFICATION

LEVEL B PACKING SHALL BE ACCOMPLISHED USING EITHER FIBEBOARD BOXES, WEATHER RESISTANT

CLASS, CONFORMING TO ASTM D5118 OR TRIPLEWALL, CORRUGATED FIBERBOARD BOXES,

CONFORMING TO CLASS CGWR OF ASTM D5168 OR PLLET BASE CONTAINERS, TYPE III, CONFORMING TO MIL-B-43666. CLOSURE, SEALING, AND REINFORCEMENT SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFIC, APPLICABLE METHODS OF ASTM D1974, OR AS REFERENCED IN THE CONTAINER SPECIFICATION.

WHEN THE TOTAL QUANTITY TO BE SHIPPED TO THE SAME DESTINATION EXCEEDS 125 POUNDS, EXTERIOR PACKS WITHOUT SKIDS SHALL BE PALLETIZED IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL- STD-147.
