About this file
This DD Form 2169 is a Special Packaging Instruction (SPI) for a solid rubber wheel (NSN 2530-01-201-4816, Part Number 12324548) with specific packaging, preservation, and marking requirements. The document details precise instructions for packaging 24 wheel assemblies per pallet, using a 52-inch by 77-inch pallet constructed with specific lumber components (5 deckboards, 1 stringer, 2 stringers, and 5 skids).
Key packaging specifications include using A-A-52408 preservative on rubber surfaces, steel strapping to secure assemblies, and a tag affixed to each wheel assembly marking manufacture date, inspection date, and shelf life information. The packaging must create a compact, rigid, and uniform load suitable for stacking, with strapping designed to prevent shifting during handling, storage, and shipment. The document follows MIL-STD-2073-1D and MIL-STD-129 standards for military packaging and marking requirements.
