About this file

These specifications detail a high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) system required by the Poultry Production and Product Safety Research Unit located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The system must include a quaternary pump with multi-solvent blending capabilities, a split-loop sampler with temperature control (4-40°C), a column compartment with thermostatting (5-85°C), a diode array detector with 3D data acquisition, and an electrochemical detector with specialized working and reference electrodes.

Key technical specifications include a 400µL mixer, integrated vacuum degasser, 25µL sample loop, injection volume of 0.010-100µL, two-slot column compartment (max 300mm columns), UV and Vis lamps (190-800nm), a seven mm titanium flow cell, and the ability to operate at post-column pressures up to 120 bar. The system is intended for analytical quantification of neurochemicals and monoamines, with requirements for onsite installation, support, and training. Additional features include extended warranties on core components and a C18+ 50mm column.

Specifications

The Poultry Production and Product Safety Research Unit (Fayetteville, AR) requires a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) system equipped with electrochemical (ECD) and ultra violet-visible (UV- Vis) detectors for analytical quantification of neurochemicals and related monoamines. This HPLC system must have the following specifications:

Equipped with a quaternary pump that allows use of multi-solvent blending for method development, including ternary and quaternary gradients, for ultra high performance liquid chromatography as well as standard applications along with four solvent channels, four hundred microliter mixer, and integrated vacuum degasser; a split-loop sampler with sample thermostatting (between 4 – 40oC) with an injection volume of 0.010 – 100uL, 25uL sample loop, a biocompatible injection valve, and four segments for vial racks; a column compartment that has several thermostatting (from 5 – 85oC) with still and forced air modes, as well as an optional active and passive pre-heating with two slots for columns (max length 300mm); A diode array detector with up to 250Hz data rate (including 3D acquisition), maximum ten ultraviolet channels, and both UV and Vis lamps, 190-800nm); a base module along with solvent rack, system tubing for one column flow path with one active pre-heater and one passive pre-heater; Flow cell that has a seven mm light path length, 2.5uL flow cell volume, and is made of titanium, can operate at post-column pressures up to 120 bar; Instrument controller that allows 3D data acquisition; onsite installation and support and training; C18+ column 50mm; Extended warranties on core column compartment, slplit sampler, diode array detector, quaternary pump; Electrochemical detector that has a cell working adjustable volume of 0-300nL, total cell volume of 0.5mL, working electrode diameter of 2mm, working electrodes is glassy carbon, silver, gold, and platinum, reference electrodes salt bridge silver/silver chloride, auxiliary electrode is stainless steel, maximum pressure (post-column) is five bar or seventy three psi, and fluidic and electric connections.
