About this file
These are specifications for the Level 1 H-1200 Fast Flow Fluid Warmer, a medical device designed for rapid and safe infusion of warm intravenous fluids. The device features an integrated air detector and clamp that automatically stops fluid flow upon detecting air in the line, allowing quick air removal without disconnecting from the patient. Key specifications include a safe circulating water heating system that maintains a 42°C temperature, an aluminum heat exchanger that transfers heat 1,000 times faster than plastic, and rigid pressure chambers that provide constant 300mmHg pressure for rapid fluid infusion.
The system has comprehensive safety and maintenance features, including built-in temperature monitoring with audible and visual alarms, a unique gas vent for eliminating microbubbles, and maintenance requirements performed prior to use, every 30 days, and annually. It is not recommended for warming platelets, cryo-precipitates, or granulocyte suspensions. The device comes with a one-year warranty and is compatible with disposable administration sets with various flow rates. The specifications also include detailed physical, environmental, thermal, and electrical characteristics, such as overall dimensions of 67 inches tall, weight of 63 pounds, and electrical requirements of 115 VAC or 230 VAC depending on the model.

Specifications
Level 1 Rapid Infuser with warmer
The Level 1 H-1200 Fast Flow Fluid Warmer allows rapid infusion of warm fluids while providing extra protection from an integrated air detector and clamp. Upon detection of air in the line, the flow of blood and fluid is automatically stopped, allowing quick removal of air and restoration of flow without disconnecting from the patient or changing disposable administration sets.
The Level 1 H-1000 Fast Flow fluid warmer has been diagnosed for safe, rapid in-line warming of I.V. fluids as they are administered to the patient. Disposable sets designed for warming at various infusion rates are available.
Easy to Use: Disposables are simple to insert and remove, with numbered blocks on the warmer. Gas vent/filter assembly can be changed without replacing the entire disposable. Durable surface makes it easy to clean. Large roller wheels allow for easy transport within facility.
• The H-1000 employs a safe circulating water heating system, inherently free of any “hotspots.” The primary temperature control circuit sets the circulating water bath to a temperature of approximately 42 °C for efficient heat exchange and maximum fluid warming.
• The Sturdy Design of the H-1000 offers a compact custom I.V. pole mount setup.
• Disposable Sets employ a unique “hands-off” Gas Vent which vents micro-bubbles of gas that are always released from fluids as they are warmed.
• Automated Pressure Chambers: Rigid pressure chambers accommodate standard blood and crystalloid bags, providing a constant 300mmHgpressure for rapid infusion while allowing for fast and easy bag changes
• Heat Exchanger: Aluminum heat exchanger transfers heat 1000 times faster than plastic
• Gas Vent: The Gas Vent provides the added feature of automated air elimination, which eliminates microbubbles without the need for frequent repriming.
• Built-In Safety Features: Monitors reservoir temperature to prevent overheating, with an audible and visual alarm if reservoir temperature reaches 43.9° C.
• Rigid pressure chambers accommodate standard blood and crystalloid bags providing a constant 300mmHg pressure for rapid infusion.
• On/Off toggle switch used to quickly and easily pressurize chambers.
• Aluminum heat exchanger, that transfers heat 1,000 times faster than plastic, with the counter current 42°C circulating water bath, ensures patients receive normothermic blood and I.V. fluids.
• An additional level of safety with the integrated Air Detector/Clamp that detects the presence of air in blood and crystalloid, alerts clinicians, and automatically stops the flow and allows quick removal of air without disconnecting from the patient or changing disposables.
CONTRAINDICATIONS • Not for use in warming platelets, cryo-precipitates, or granulocyte suspensions.
MAINTENANCE: Only authorized personnel should perform any routine maintenance and repairs to the Level 1® H-1200 Fast Flow Fluid Warmer (Fluid Warmer). Maintenance is scheduled prior to each use, every 30 days, and annually. The tasks are detailed below. Note: If distilled water is used as the recirculating solution, change the solution every 30 days. If a 0.3% hydrogen peroxide/distilled water solution is used as the recirculating solution, change the solution every 12 months, and during the 12 month period, always refill the reservoir with a 0.3% hydrogen peroxide/distilled water solution. Maintenance Performed Prior to Every Use Clean and inspect the Fluid Warmer with Air Detector/Clamp and Pressure Chambers after each use. Clean the Exterior • Clean the entire Fluid Warmer after every use. Use only mild detergents, water, and a soft cloth. • To disinfect external surfaces, use 10% bleach/distilled water solution. General Inspection • Check the condition of the Fluid Warmer with a visual inspection. Remove from service any unit that shows physical damage. • If the Disposable Set does not install easily, lubricate the O-Rings as directed in the following section. Maintenance Performed Every 30 Days Lubricate O-Ring Seals It is not necessary to disassemble the blocks to lubricate the O-Rings. 1 Place a small amount of silicone grease on a cotton swab. 2 Apply the silicone grease along the O- Rings in the bottom #1 Block, and top #2 Block Heat Exchanger sockets.
WARRANTY: The Level 1® H-1200 Fast Flow Fluid Warmer (Fluid Warmer) and the The Level 1® H-31, Version B, Air Detector/Clamp (Air Detector/Clamp) are warranted to be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of 1 year (12 months) from the date of shipment to the customer.
If the customer finds any Fluid Warmer or Air Detector/Clamp to have such defects during this period, it should be returned to the address provided in the Service section of this manual. The product will either be repaired or replaced by a new Fluid Warmer or Air Detector/Clamp, and returned to the customer. Provided the company confirms that there were defects in the Fluid Warmer or Air Detector/Clamp, will also refund the customer’s reasonable cost of returning the Fluid Warmer or Air Detector/Clamp for repair.
