The enclosure requires structural steel framing with 18-gauge painted steel wall and ceiling panels, fully functional dry chemical automatic sprinkler system (NFPA 17 compliant), LED overhead lighting providing minimum 100-foot candles, white enamel interior finish, and airflow maintained between 2000-3000 CFM. The equipment room houses the exhaust fan unit (tube axial with totally enclosed fan cooled motor), heating system maintaining 90-100°F interior at 30°F exterior using 80/20 recirculation mode, and electrical systems operating from single-source 460 VAC, 3-phase, 60 Hz power. All equipment must comply with OSHA standards (29 CFR 1910, 1915), applicable NFPA standards (70, 79, 33, 17), ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 52.2, AWS-D1 welding codes, and feature noncombustible or Class 2 filters with 98.6% efficiency, U.S. or Canadian manufactured bearings, and hazardous material exclusions including radioactive materials, asbestos, mercury, cadmium, lithium, and polychlorinated biphenyls. The contractor shall provide NRTL listing or field inspection approval, one-year warranty, five copies of operation/maintenance manuals with schematics, and must schedule basic performance testing with minimum 15-day advance notice to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, with final acceptance requiring completion of all inspections, testing, and OSHA certification.
