About this file
This is a Requirements/Specification Document from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for the procurement of a Superconducting Qubit Control System. The requesting laboratory is the Communications Technology Laboratory, Quantum Communications Division, Scalable Quantum Computing Group (676.01).
NIST seeks to procure one (1) Superconducting Qubit Control System as a potential standard test instrument to support the development and testing of a qubit reference system. The arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) must include at least 8 independent output channels reading from different memory sections with output frequencies up to 10 GHz and baseband frequency of at least 400 MHz per channel. Key technical specifications include maximum RF power not exceeding 0 dBm, ability to select between at least 65,536 voltage levels (16-bit) for each sample, peak-to-peak maximum voltage of at least 500 mV into 50Ω for each output, and capability to take and deliver clock and fast trigger signals. The system must feature 10 digital output channels, at least 2 analog input channels with 10 GHz range and 400 MHz bandwidth with 12-bit resolution, and real-time feedback control capabilities with maximum 700 nanosecond feedback latency for both digital and analog outputs. The system must be self-contained, powered using standard 120Vac/60 Hz wall power, rack-mountable, an established commercial product with multiple field installations, and covered by the original manufacturer's full warranty with U.S.-based service. Delivery is required no later than 60 days ARO to NIST-Boulder (Mail Stop 676.01, 325 Broadway, Boulder, CO 80305), with acceptance expected not to exceed 7 business days. Training for one (1) trainee on-site covering equipment operation is required, delivered either in-person or via zoom session, with TPOC serving as coordination point.
