About this file
This document is a Specification for a Plant Growth Chamber, solicited by the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Cereal Disease Lab in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The specification details requirements for a highly sophisticated plant growth chamber with precise environmental control capabilities, including specific dimensional constraints (exterior dimensions not exceeding 79" height x 106" width x 35.5" depth), comprehensive controller features with touchscreen interface, and advanced environmental parameter controls. Key technical requirements include temperature range of 4-35°C, LED lighting optimized for plant growth with at least 1450 µmoles/m²/s intensity, dehumidification capabilities down to 45% relative humidity, and integrated systems for automatic watering, airflow management, and data monitoring.
The procurement involves delivering and installing a single Plant Growth Chamber to the USDA ARS Cereal Disease Lab, with delivery scheduled 130 days after award. The specification mandates a minimum two-year manufacturer warranty and requires delivery, installation, and training. The delivery point of contact is Karen Broz, and the chamber will be delivered to the garage area where a forklift is available. The chamber must have specific features like two reach-in doors with locks, an observation window, interior electrical receptacle, temperature limit safety controls, remote alarm contacts, and comprehensive technical and operator manuals.
