About this file

This Requirements/Specification Document details NIST's requirement for specialized on-wafer probes for the RF Technology Division's High Frequency Electronics Group. The procurement seeks 10 total probes across four specific categories: 3x 1.0 mm Coaxial Probes (DC to 110 GHz), 3x WR6.5 Waveguide Probes (110-170 GHz), 3x WR5.1 Waveguide Probes (140-220 GHz), and 1x WR4.3 Waveguide Probes (170-260 GHz). Each probe type must have a 50 um GSG tip configuration, integrate a bias tee, have maximum 2.0 dB insertion loss, and a short body type.

Key procurement details include delivery to NIST-Boulder within 6 weeks after order release, on-site acceptance expected to take 3 weeks, and a standard 1-year manufacturer's warranty covering labor and parts. The probes are required for two specific projects: a CRADA calibration study and load-pull measurements for the High-Frequency Electronics Project, CHIPS, and DARPA ELGAR. This is a sources sought announcement to identify potential vendors, with a potential small business set-aside if at least two qualified small businesses can meet the technical specifications.
