About this file
The document is a detailed technical specifications sheet for radiation detectors, solicited by the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 6 under Solicitation Number 36C24625Q0803.
The specifications outline two sodium iodide [Nal(Tl)] scintillation detectors, each 7.6 x 2.5 cm, housed in NEMA 4x weathertight enclosures. Key features include a 4-digit LED display, adjustable low and high alarms, battery status indicators, and audio output. The detectors operate on 95 to 135 Vac power with a 6-volt sealed lead-acid rechargeable battery providing approximately 48 hours of operation. The rugged aluminum housing with ivory powder coat is designed to function in temperatures ranging from -20 to 50°C, with each detector weighing 14.5 kg and electronics unit weighing 2.3 kg. Additional capabilities include optional remote alarm connection, continuous battery trickle-charging, and indicators for detector failure, overload, and overrange conditions.
