Cubed Alfalfa and Cubed Mixed Grass Hay at the USDA hemoparasite barn at UI
- Description The Animal Disease Research Unit in Pullman, WA and Moscow, ID requires both Alfalfa Hay and Mixed Grass Hay for horses, sheep, cattle, and goats located at the hemoparasite barn at the University of Idaho at 875 Perimeter Drive, Moscow, ID.
Separate kinds of hay are required. The mixed hay is used to feed the horses as the high protein content of the alfalfa causes digestive issues. The alfalfa bales are used to feed the calves and is also used to supplement horse feed if an animal is under weight. For this reason, the amount of alfalfa needed vs the amount of mixed hay needed can vary depending on the needs of the farm.
