Minimum Acceptable Specifications for Laboratory Soil Cutting/Grinding Mill
Sieve/Screen Sizes: 2.0 mm, 1.0 mm, 0.5 mm, 0.25 mm
Materials: Agricultural soils
Material quantity: Occasional small quantities, sample loss needs to be almost zero
Material output: Homogenous, well-ground material that will pass through 1 mm sieve.
Rotor (1): Steel rotor (minimize heavy metal contamination) fixed blades
Rotor (2): Steel rotor reversible tip blade tips
Rotor Speed: Variable (~100-3000 rpm) to facilitate multiple methods/materials
Motor size: 3 kw for optimal cutting power
Cyclone/Vacuum Unit: Cyclone/vacuum adapter with industrial vacuum to facilitate grinding of fine plant materials and prevent operator dust exposure
Hopper/Feed Unit: Completely enclosed hopper unit to eliminate potential finger or hand amputation
Safety Features: Central locking device, engine brake, electronic safety cutoff/check
Cleaning Features: Easily removable cutting rotor, removable or hinged hopper
Instrument Mounting: Mounted on sturdy metal frame with lockable casters for easy relocation of instrument
