Specifications
Background or Introduction Scientists at the USDA-ARS Beltsville facility require autonomous robotic platforms that can be used to deploy a range of actuators. It will be used within our long-term agricultural systems experiment and for building plant image repositories.
Scope The platform will be used to mount a phenotyping platform called BenchBot and to mount a suite of farm implements including planters and sprayers. The integrated BenchBot system will be used to construct high resolution image repositories in semi-field conditions.
Objectives Purchase three self-propelled mobile electric robot platforms, Amigas 48” with intelligence kit, Brand Name or Equal. Includes 4-wheel drive/driven by independent electric motors. The units must have adjustable width for multiple crop and dimension applications and include an Intelligence kit including an Amiga Xavier Brain, Luxonis Cameras, mounting brackets, cables, and POE switch.
Requirements The Agency needs a robotic platform that uses open-source software and a software development kit access, that has adjustable height and width specifications, and can be both manually operated as well as fully autonomous. Furthermore, we need an open-source platform that enables access to external code and hardware and that has ROS and python code integration.
