About this file

This specifications document outlines the technical requirements for a 600-pound vibratory plate compactor for the State of Maine. The document provides detailed manufacturing and performance specifications that potential bidders must meet to qualify for the contract opportunity. The specifications cover equipment dimensions, weight capacity, engine requirements, compaction force, frequency of vibration, and operational features necessary for the equipment to perform soil and asphalt compaction tasks effectively. The document establishes minimum performance standards and material requirements that any submitted equipment must satisfy, ensuring that procured units meet the state's operational and durability expectations for road construction and maintenance applications.

The specifications emphasize critical performance metrics including the 600-pound weight specification as the primary constraint, with detailed requirements for compacting width, depth of compaction, and frequency specifications. Additional technical requirements address fuel capacity, operating temperature ranges, and safety features required for equipment operation in Maine's climate and terrain conditions. The document serves as the baseline technical standard against which all bids will be evaluated, with compliance to these specifications being mandatory for bid acceptance and contract award consideration.
