About this file
This specifications document outlines procurement requirements for the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks agency for one SEFMA (Southeast Fisheries Management Area) fish transport tank with delivery required by May 1, 2027, to the agency's facility at 5316 W 60th Street N, Sioux Falls, SD 57107. The transport tank specifications include external dimensions of 76" W x 40"H x 98" L with three separate parallel compartments, each with 250-260 gallon working capacity, constructed from 5052 grade aluminum with 1.5" to 2" insulated walls, a 1/4" thick inner tank wall, and 1/8" outer aluminum skin. The tank features three separate lids at the discharge end measuring 27" long by at least 17" wide with rubber seals and toggle latch systems, 10" diameter ports with knife gate valves and camlock dust caps, continuous piano-style hinges, gas shocks, and ram air vents at the front and rear of each tank compartment. The tank includes three DC 12-V Model TT Fresh Flo aerators mounted at the front end with mesh cages, wired into a switch box, and six ceramic stone diffusers (two per tank) mounted on the tank floor, as well as three oxygen flowmeters mounted on the front passenger side with protective boxes.
The specifications document does not contain information regarding pricing terms, set asides, incumbent contractors, funding sources, or other financial considerations. The document emphasizes design specifications requiring compatibility with the agency's existing transport tank while providing increased working capacity, and specifies that delivery shall be FOB Destination with no paint finish on the aluminum construction.

Specifications 26IFB19928
Quantity: one (1) SEFMA (Southeast Fisheries Management Area) Fish Transport Tank:
- We would like a fish transport tank similar to our existing transport tank (Figures 2-9), but with compartments of greater working capacity (250+ versus 200 gallon).
- Transport tank external dimensions – 76” W x 40”H x 98” L.
o Tank has three (3) separate compartments, each compartment 250-260 gallons that run parallel to the length of the trailer (Figure 1), sloped from front to drain end and toward the ports (to the left) for the left side and center tank (to the right) for the right tank (see Figure 1). This is so port, knife gate and recessed gate handle can be placed to the right or left of latch mechanism allowing one to release the gate without opening the tank lid (Figure 1).
o 1.5”- 2” insulated tank walls; 1/4” thick inner tank wall; 1/8” outer aluminum skin.
o 5052 grade aluminum, no paint.
o 10” diameter ports with knife gate valves integrated into tank wall, 10” camlock dust caps. Ports located (Figure 1) so that gate valve stems are not beneath latching mechanism (as seen with our existing tank in Figure 2) o Three (3) separate lids (Figure 1) at the discharge end of the tank, dimension of the opening is 27” long by at least 17” wide (wider if feasible), lids designed similar to those in Figure 3 with a lip (1.25” with current tank) extending outside the opening that contains a rubber seal, a suitable strength handle and latching system utilizing a toggle latch (see Figure 2). We like this latching system better than toggle clamps which get caught up in nets and clothing when loading and unloading fish.
o Continuous piano-style hinge.
o Gas shocks (Figure 4).
o Ram air vents at the front (close to the front tank wall) and rear of each tank
(rear vent mounted on the tank lid Figures 1, 2 and 5).
o Quantity: Three (3) DC 12-V Model TT Fresh Flo (brand name only) aerators
(one per tank) mounted at the front end of tank (approx. 12” from front tank wall, Figures 1 and 5) with mesh cage added (Figure 6) and wired into a switch box (Figure 7).
o Quantity: Two (2) 27.5” x 3” ceramic stone diffusers per tank (6 total) mounted on the tank floor (Figure 6).
o Small sealed and welded hole on top of each tank and next to the front wall for running O2 lines (Figure 2).
- Oxygen flowmeter (One (1) for each tank (ceramic diffuser pair)) on the front passenger side.
- Protective box for flowmeters (Figure 8).
