About this file
This is a specification sheet for a commercially available pressure transducer required under a federal contract opportunity. The Government requires 54 units of pressure transducers capable of measuring hydrogen pressure in the 25-2200 psi range with both absolute and sealed gage operational modes. The transducers must withstand over-pressure conditions at 2x rated pressure and burst pressure up to 5x rated pressure or 15,000 psi maximum.
The transducers must operate across a wide temperature range from -40°F to +265°F (-40°C to +130°C), with compensation between -40°F to +250°F (-40°C to +120°C). Electrical specifications include rated excitation of 8 to 32 VDC with maximum current of 25 mA, full scale output of 4.0 VDC ±0.25 VDC, and a total error band of ±0.25% FSO maximum. The equipment must meet demanding environmental conditions including 100% relative humidity, linear vibration of 20g peak sine wave from 10 to 2000 Hz, and mechanical shock of 20g half sine wave with 11 millisecond duration. Additional requirements include infinitesimal resolution, 110 gram weight, insulation resistance of 100 megohms at 50 VDC, output impedance of 750 megohm maximum, a fully active four-arm Wheatstone bridge dielectrically isolated silicon pressure sensing principle, mounting torque of 100 inch-pounds maximum, electrical connection via PTIH-10-6P connector or equivalent, and pressure port connection of 7/16-20UNJF-3A MS33656E-4. The Government accepts either the Kulite manufacturer part number BME-76-1100 or an "or equal" commercially available product meeting these specifications.
