About this file

This special notice announces the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Rose Electronics Distributing Company, LLC for the purchase of 25 alkaline battery packs of two types. The sole source determination is based on Rose Electronics being the only known supplier of batteries that are compatible with and provide essential power for NOAA's existing RFLEX surface and subsurface instrument controller and modem GPS and Iridium communication modules. The integrated electronics package requires an uninterrupted, robust, and precisely regulated power source to function properly. Interested parties have 15 days to provide substantiating documentation that they can meet the requirements, after which NOAA will determine whether to conduct the procurement competitively. Delivery of the batteries is required by May 30, 2024. The solicitation number for this special notice is 145027-24-0011SRG.
