About this file
This document is a detailed technical specification for a 20'L x 8'W x 8'6"H cargo container for the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Construction and Equipment. The specification outlines comprehensive requirements for a new or one-time used steel container, including precise structural details such as 14-gauge corrugated steel exterior surfaces, 7-gauge steel end frames, forklift pockets, passive ventilation vents, and multiple anchor and lashing ring configurations. Specific paint requirements mandate an exterior top-coat color of Light Green (CHIP Number 34102) and an interior top-coat color of Gray (CHIP Number 36622) if not otherwise specified, with all colors selected according to AMS STD-595.
The document provides extensive technical requirements including container markings, manifest box placements, floor specifications, safety plate installations, and anti-pilferage provisions. The container must meet multiple international standards, including ISO 1496, ISO 6346, and CSC (International Convention for Safe Containers) regulations. Additional requirements include specific identification markings, a manufacture date not exceeding 12 months from the contract acceptance date, and compliance with numerous military and international standards. The solicitation is for 38 containers to be delivered to a location in Williamsburg, VA, with quotes to be submitted through the DLA Internet Bid Board System (DIBBS).
