About this file

This Commercial Item Description (CID) provides detailed specifications for military neckties, covering polyester/wool and polyester neckties intended for male military personnel across different service branches. The document defines four distinct necktie classes with specific color requirements: Khaki M-1 for Marine Corps (Class 3), Black 439 for Army and Navy (Class 5), and Blue 1622 for Air Force (Class 6). Detailed technical requirements include precise measurements, construction standards, material composition, and quality assurance provisions. The neckties must be two-fold, four-in-hand design with pointed ends, machine-sewn center seam, interlinings, a retainer loop, and specific dimensional tolerances ranging from 55-61 inches in length with variations based on military branch and size (regular or extra-long). Additional specifications cover thread type, tape for retainer loop, labeling requirements, and comprehensive visual and dimensional examination criteria to ensure quality and uniformity across military uniform neckwear.
