About this file

This is Amendment 001 to solicitation SP3300-26-Q-0176, issued by DLA Distribution Acquisition Operations on June 4, 2026, effective June 3, 2026. The amendment addresses two vendor questions regarding battery specifications and product requirements for CLINs 0002 and 0003.

For CLIN 0002, the Government clarified conflicting battery specifications for an 18-125-17 battery with dimensions of 38.25" L x 20.125" W x 30.5" H and weight range of 2,600 to 3,070 lbs. The vendor questioned whether the controlling requirement was meeting stated dimensional and weight limits (potentially yielding 1000-1080 Ah capacity) or meeting the 1240 Ah capacity requirement (which may exceed dimensional/weight limits). The Government's answer specifies that the Salient Characteristics state a maximum of 1240 amp hours, but 1000 Ah will be sufficient. For CLIN 0003, the vendor requested clarification on the number of batteries required per unit or the specific brand and model of equipment for the 30-unit quantity to enable a lithium conversion proposal. The Government's answer states that lithium batteries are not acceptable. Vendors must acknowledge receipt of this amendment prior to the hour and date specified in the solicitation by completing items 8 and 15 or submitting a separate letter or electronic communication referencing the solicitation and amendment numbers.

Amendment 001

The purpose of this modification is to answer vendor questions.

Question 1: CLIN 0002 identifies the battery as an 18-125-17, with dimensions of 38.25" L x 20.125" W x 30.5" H, and a required weight range of 2,600 lbs to 3,070 lbs. The same line also lists a capacity requirement of 1240Ah.

We have received information from multiple motive battery suppliers indicating that standard 17-plate batteries in this physical envelope are typically rated around 1000Ah to 1080Ah. Battery configurations that meet or exceed 1240Ah appear to require a larger physical configuration that would exceed the stated width and/or weight limits.

Can the Government please clarify which requirement controls for CLIN 0002?

1. An 18-125-17 battery that fits the stated dimensional and weight requirements for the Crown RC5500 application, even if the available Ah rating is below 1240Ah; or

2. A battery that meets or exceeds 1240Ah, even if that requires a larger battery that exceeds the stated dimensional and/or weight limits?

Answer: My Salient Characteristics state MAX amp hours of 1240. 1000 AH will be suffice.

Question 2: For CLIN 0003, while the requested quantity is 30, we need to know how many batteries each unit requires, or the specific brand and model of the equipment. This information will allow me to provide a lithium conversion.

Answer: Lithium batteries are not acceptable
