About this file

This document is an amendment to a Request for Quote (RFQ) for DDSP Laminated Shipping Boxes, solicitation number SP330025Q0221. The amendment extends the closing date to 6/24/25 at 1 PM EDT and the questions deadline to 6/17/25, and provides detailed specifications for U-shaped laminated paperboard shipping containers. The boxes are designed for long and narrow materials, with specific requirements including a weather-resistant white clay coat, dimensions of 4"x4"x300", minimum base thickness of 0.300", side thickness of 0.200", and corrosion protection.

The solicitation is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS code 322211 for the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution, seeking to establish a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Purchase Order for one contract. The shipping boxes can be customized to accommodate various product sizes, with additional features like wood end pieces and forklift-compatible feet. The container is designed to be interlocking, with two U-shaped laminated paperboard profiles that form a tube, which can be sealed with end pieces and potentially banded together for shipping.

Text version

The purpose of this amendment is to:

1. Extend the closing date to 6/24/25 at 1PM EDT

2. Extend the questions deadline date to 6/17/25 at 1PM EDT

3. Change the description to the following:

U-shaped laminated paperboard, U crate, inside dimensions 4"x4"x300”.

laminated paperboard: consists of two preformed u-shaped laminated paperboard proviles that interlock to form a shipping container specially made for long and narrow materials; CLASS: WR (Weather Resistant); base of box must be no less than .300"; sides must be no less than .200"; white clay coat; printable; corrosion protection; non-abrasive to product.

4. Answer the below questions I. Could these be produced in sections? (Interlocking of course and solid for shipping the product)

a. The U crate should consist of two 4"x4"x300" U-shaped proviles (example picture below question IV) that can be banded together to create a tube. End pieces can then be inserted into the holes at the end of the tube to seal the box. Feet can be added to the bottom of the box to aid in lifting with forks.

II. Could you kindly provide photographs and/or drawings of the interior and exterior of the box?

a. No Images are available for this product. (see drawling and demesion in questions IV and V) III. Could you provide the dimensions of the parts these boxes will contain?

a. The boxes will ship all different sizes and can be cut to ship different sizes based on product needs.

IV. Because the 4"x4"x300" dimensions initially listed in this RFQ did not yet specify if the 4" refers to both "legs" plus the top width of these pieces, can you confirm that all pieces need to be 300" long (measure "D" below) with 4" wide base ("B") and 4" leg heights ("A")?

a. The feet and ends are not in the picture. The U-crate is one continuous length of 300”, the top is a white weather resistant laminated coating. The ends and feet are wood. The feet are so the box can be lifted with a forklift and the ends fit into the 4”x4” hole at the end of the box. (See question V for more dimensional information) i.

V. Should the caliper ("C" above) be 0.300 for the entire "U" shape of the base piece, and 0.200 for the entire "U" shape of the top piece?

a. See below dimensions based on the above drawing

i. A: 4”

ii. B: 4”

iii. C: 0.300”

iv. D: 300” VI. Could you please confirm the Shipping Boxes dimensions is 4"x4"x300”?

a. Yes. (See question V)

5. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged image1.png
