Amendment 0001 is hereby incorporated into Invitation For Bid SP3300-18-B-0008.Amendment 0001 is issued to answer vender questions. Please see below for questions and answers.
Question 1. Is it acceptable for one individual to serve as superintendent, QC, and SSHO (triple hat).
Answer 1. These specific positions are not required of this project. However an overall safety first approach is.
See Safety Plan as pre-construction submittal in attached Statement of Work. REV1 .
Question 2. Please confirm or clarify the quantity of twist timer controls needed.
Answer 2. 34 twist timers shall be installed (see revised SOW) For building 30 the Statement of Work states to provide 31 twist timer controls in building 30; however only 6 controls are shown. If the Dayton 5VD63 heaters (center gas heaters between the conveyor isles) require individual controls for a total of 23, then the total of controls needed is 29 controls. Shall the center gas heaters each receive a timer control, or should there be a control per location/row? Please clarify.
For building 57, the Statement of Work states to provide 30 twist timer controls; however only 19 twist timer controls are shown on the plans. Please clarify
Question 3. There are Big Ass Fans inline where the government indicates new gas heater placement in building 30.
Please advise on how the government intends to proceed with the placement of these heaters?
Answer 3. See revised drawing. Tube heaters shall be offset as shown and shall be tilted toward the work areas/ stations
Question 4. Please specify the type of roof for venting and patching purposes. Does the government have pictures of a typical roof?
Answer 4.
On Building 30 Sections 1-4, the following were installed:
1) The flutes on the metal roof was filled with EPS or polyiso flute fill insulation mechanically attached between the existing flutes to create flush substrate.
2)Then a 3/8” Securock roof board mechanically attached to existing standing seam metal roofing panels.
3)Then the 50 mil Duro-Last PVC roofing system mechanically attached.
On Building 57 Section 1:
1)Existing -- Steel deck, 5” od ISO insulation, ¾” fiber board, adhered PVC membrane to top of fiber board.
2)Overlaid on top of the existing: New – ¼” Securock mechanically attached, then 50 mil Duro-Last PVC roofing system, mechanically attached.
Question 5. Please confirm if weekend work will be required, and if so, to what extent.
Answer 5. Weekend work will be required for the installation portion that is directly over the UGR assembly lines in Building 30-2, and the overhead work on the shipping side (west end) and the north side of the conveyors in Building 30-1. The rest of the work can be managed during normal business hours if the contractor blocks off the overhead area according to the submitted schedule.
Question 6. Please provide a demand load for the two existing circuits in building 30, panel 1LC that are servicing existing heaters. If the new heater loads exceed the allowable ampacity of the existing breakers, how does the government want to proceed? A subpanel may be required.
Answer 6. There are three, 20A breakers in that panel. After the site visit, the government has decided to remove the existing radiant heaters to avoid any unknown power conflicts.
Question 7. In building 57, there are no spare circuits in panel RP1402. Please advise on the demand load of the existing heater loads. If the new heater loads exceed the allowable ampacity of the existing breakers, then how does the government want to proceed? Some workstations in the warehouse have been removed. It was suggested that the government may want to modify the scope of work to delete the placement of heaters where the workstations are no longer present.
Answer 7. Since the new heaters are on individual timer controls, the contractor shall assume sufficient capacity on existing breakers/circuits. The heaters will only draw current during start-up/ignition. Install as per existing drawing.
Question 8. Some workstations in the warehouse have been removed. It was suggested that the government may want to modify the scope of work to delete the placement of heaters where the workstations are no longer present.
Answer 8. Install as per existing drawing.
