SP3300-10-R-0005
Amendment 0003
The purpose of this Amendment is to incorporate information regarding packaging and marking requirements as a result of a contractor submitted question regarding them as discussed herein:
1. QUESTION: I was more concerned about the packaging of the bags, IE their markings, carton weights, carton materials . . . and if 2D or 3D bar codes will be needed. I did not see references to mil-std-129 or mil-std-2073-1 which is where I typically find this information. I am hoping that standard commercial best practices are acceptable but wanted to make sure before I start adding in the cost of packaging materials.
ANSWER: No bar coding is required. All orders shall be packaged in accordance with best commercial practice to insure safe delivery to destination.
The outermost shipping container shall be marked with the following information:
Contractor's name
Contract Number and Delivery Order Number
Contract Line Item Number (CLIN)
Container Quantity
2. Under Notice to Offerors, Page 2, add paragraph 7. as follows:
PACKAGING REQUIREMENTS: All orders shall be packaged in accordance with best commercial practice to insure safe delivery to destination. The outermost shipping container shall be marked with the following information, at a minimum, contractor’s name, contract number, delivery order number, Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) and container quantity.
