About this file
This is a packaging specification document for a centrifugal pump solicitation issued by the United States Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center under solicitation number 70Z08026Q20151. The document specifies mandatory packaging requirements for 10 units of a Flowserve Corporation Model Durco MK3 centrifugal pump (Part Number: 1K3X1.5V-81RV M3V/1-CD4), which includes a Baldor 10HP 3600RPM motor. Each pump unit must be individually packaged in a wooden crate and bolted down, with standard commercial packaging explicitly deemed unacceptable. Quotations that do not meet these specific Coast Guard packaging requirements will be rejected.
The pump specification includes detailed component requirements such as CD4M/CD4MCUN materials for casing, impeller, and cover; 316 stainless steel shaft with butt weld; DCI2 bearing housing; standard 150# flange drilling without casing or discharge taps; and an ISC2 carbon/silcar viton mechanical seal. The solicitation mandates brand-name Flowserve products, with alternative products only acceptable if they meet all salient physical, functional, and performance characteristics as determined by the Coast Guard. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6, with quotations requested in lieu of a formal written solicitation.
