Statement of Work
For ROV System
PR 20145598
1.0 BACKGROUND
The Port of New York/Newark is requesting authorization to purchase the Deep Trekker Revolution ROV system for our Seaport Operations Group (SOG) and Mobile Response Team (MRT). The Deep Trekker Revolution ROV will enhance the Port's ability to effectively examine the hulls of vessels coming from high-risk countries where there's a possibility of a parasitic device attached to the vessel hull below the water line. Recent intelligence provided by the Newark SPEAR indicates that Drug Trafficking Organizations (DTOs) are utilizing parasitic devices on vessels to smuggle large quantities of narcotics along the eastern seaboard of the United States.
