SCOPE

This Statement of Work (SOW) provides a description of the software required to migrate the Submarine Piloting and Navigation (SPAN) Trainer systems to Windows 10/Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 in order to meet cybersecurity requirements. The required operating systems are not included in this SOW and will be supplied as GOTS Software. The requirements in this SOW comprise the software needed to upgrade the SPAN Trainers in Kings Bay, GA and Bangor, WA to the level required. Specific quantities and versions are given in the requirements section and the software required is comprised of the Virtual Ship (VSHIP) software and Federates as well as the VT Mak Run-Time Infrastructure and VT Mak VR-Link Toolkit licenses.

Background:

The SPAN Trainer (Device 21B71) is required to train enlisted men and officers in the proper planning and execution of navigation plans through the use of naval navigation techniques and equipment to ensure the submarine is safely piloted and navigated. Operation of the SPAN Trainer utilizes the VSHIP databases and Federates as well as the Mak Run-time Infrastructure (RTI) and VR Link software in accordance with the VSHIP’s Federation Object Model (FOM). The SPAN training systems in Kings Bay and Bangor will be upgraded to comply with cybersecurity directives utilizing Windows 10 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 for the Operating System(s). This SOW outlines the SPAN training systems software required to be delivered to Kings Bay, GA and Bangor, WA as part of this cybersecurity update.

APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS

None.

REQUIREMENTS

General The contractor shall provide the operating system-compatible, VSHIP software build and other software as specified for the Kings Bay and Bangor SPAN Trainers to the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division, Orlando, FL.

Detailed Tasks The government will integrate the software in this delivery order for successful accomplishment of the software items required by this SOW. Software acceptance by the Government will be provided by successful execution of the SPAN Test Suite. The following tasks shall be required of the contractor.

Software The contractor shall provide the following software:

The Windows 10 build of VSHIP Version 9.1.40, Release 24061Software with licenses for Federates shown in Table 1.

VT Mak HLA RTI software version 4.3k in a unique configuration for proper VShip operation that facilitates HLA 1.3 communications for Windows 10 platforms and Linux Red Hat Enterprise 7 platforms with licenses as shown in Table 2.

VT Mak VR-Link version 5.0.1 licenses in the same unique configuration for proper VShip operation as shown in Table 2.

The contractor shall ensure that licenses are provided to run all required Federates as listed in the tables below.

Software Delivery The contractor shall deliver the required software via CD/DVD-ROM and Electronic License Keys. Electronic License Keys shall be delivered to the Government.

Support Service The contractor shall provide a contact name, phone number, and email for on-call support. NOTE: On-site contractor support for installation and integration is not required.

Required Software:

The contractor shall procure and deliver the following software required to support the SPAN development effort as listed in Table 3.
