About this file
The provided document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a Zero Air Generator. The SOW outlines the requirement for the vendor to provide a Zero Air Generator that can supply up to 3500 mL/min of ultra-high purity air. The generator will integrate with the existing infrastructure in Building 840 and provide redundancy with a zero air tank. The SOW is related to a pre-solicitation (Sources Sought) issued by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) for the procurement of a Zero Air Generator. The Sources Sought requests information from interested small business concerns regarding their capability and experience to provide the required item. Respondents are asked to provide details on their company, small business designation, relevant capability and experience, potential subcontractors, and any risks or unknowns that may impact their ability to meet the requirements.

Statement of Work
Title: Zero Air Generator
Document Date: 15 May 2024
Scope: The vendor shall provide a Zero Air Generator
Background: This item has been identified under the OE Equipment Modernization. Although this does not increase capacity or capability, it does decrease dependence on the gas cylinder supply chain for zero air. Earlier in 2023, the OEA Laboratory experienced ongoing interruptions in cylinder delivery which resulted in work stoppage and increased turn-around-times for analysis. The zero air generator takes an external air source, filters it to 99.999% hydrocarbon free producing ultra high purity air which can supply up to ten gas chromatography instruments using approximately 300mL/min as a fuel gas. This also eliminates the inconvenience and dangerous zero air cylinders from the laboratory.
Requirement/Salient Characteristics: The Zero Air Generator shall possess the following salient characteristics:
Shall be able to supply up to 3500 mL/min ultra high purity air.
Requires an external air source of at least 50 pounds/square inches of relatively low moisture and hydrogen maintained by facilities in Bldg. 840, W320. The external air source is provided from existing infrastructure within Bldg. 840. The Zero Air generator will be maintained by the OEA lab by replacing the three filters annually as recommended by the manufacturer.
Shall integrate with Bldg. 840’s current infrastructure by connecting to the existing changeover regulator system through the optional inlet using a braided cable used for the air cylinders. The braided cable is the connection from the Zero Air Generator to the changeover regulator system and currently installed.
Shall be plumbed for redundancy with a zero air tank in the event the zero air generator requires maintenance or malfunctions.
Shall operate on 100-240 Vac 50/60 Hz (3 prong grounded plug).
