About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a design/build project to construct a log cabin office at Shaw Air Force Base. The project (VLSB 25-0024) requires the contractor to design and construct an 800 sq ft log cabin using a Conestoga Log Cabin kit, with specific requirements including demolition of an existing concrete slab, construction of a new foundation with masonry piers, installation of utilities, HVAC, plumbing, and accessory features like stairs and a ramp meeting ADA requirements. The total project timeline is estimated at 27 weeks, broken down into design phases (12 weeks) and construction phases (11 weeks of construction, 4 weeks of close-out).
Key technical specifications include constructing a concrete foundation with 12" square masonry piers, installing exterior and interior beams, procuring the log cabin kit, and completing interior work such as electrical rough-ins, kitchenette installation, and utility connections. The contractor must adhere to multiple federal and state codes, including UFC, UFGS, International Building Code, and Shaw Air Force Base Design Standards. Deliverables include design submittals at 65% and 95% completion, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and a DD Form 1354. The project will be located at Shaw Air Force Base and is classified as a non-appropriated fund instrumentality (NAFI) requirement.
