The Office of the Judge Advocate General's Corps (OTJAG) provides legal services for the Army, its Soldiers, family members, and retirees. Judge advocates serve as prosecutors and defense attorneys for criminal trials under the Uniform Code of Military Justice; they practice international, operational, labor, contract, environmental, tort and administrative law; and provide routine legal services for the Soldier, retirees and their families. Many of these services require the ability to research documents, computer files, and other electronic communications required for litigation. The procurement of TARL provides newly assigned litigation/trial advocates with legal research capabilities.
