About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details a soil testing project for the Washington State Soil Health Initiative involving the analysis of 320 soil samples. The contractor will perform comprehensive soil testing, including measurements of soil pH, electrical conductivity, extractable minerals and nutrients, organic matter, nitrogen levels, carbon content, texture, protein, and other biochemical properties. The samples will be analyzed exclusively by Soiltest Farm Consultants, the designated laboratory for the research initiative, with the government providing the soil samples. The project requires completion of all soil test analysis data by September 30, 2025, and the resulting data will be shared with USDA-ARS and Washington State University researchers.

Statement of Work (SOW)

Project: Soil Testing for WASHI Soil Samples

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.0 Scope of Work: Measurement of soil pH, EC, DTPA extractable (Zn, Mn, Cu, Fe, S, B), ammonium acetate extractable cations (Ca, Mg, Na, K), Olsen P, OM, Nitrate nitrogen, ammonium nitrogen, CEC, Total N, Total C (organic and inorganic C), texture, autoclaved citrate extractable (ACE) protein, potentially mineralizable carbon (96 hour), permanganate oxidizable carbon on 320 soil samples following the requirements of the Washington State Soil Health Initiative.

2.0 Background: This vendor must be a approved vendor for conducting soil tests for samples collected from the Washington State Soil Health Initiative research vineyard. For data comparison purposes, all samples collected from the Washington State Soil Health Initiative research vineyard and other sites in the Washington State Soil Health Initiative research site network are analyzed by a common laboratory; for soil testing this is Soiltest Farm Consultants. An email from the project coordinator of the Washington Soil Health Initiative stating the need for the soil testing to be done at Soiltest Farm Consultants is attached.

CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS

3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks: Sample preparation and analysis of 320 soil samples following the requirements of the Washington State Soil Health Initiative.
