About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details requirements for repairing and reconditioning a Ship's Service Diesel Generator (SSDG) exciter for the USCGC Alex Haley (WMEC-282). The repair work must be performed at the contractor's designated repair facility, with the period of performance from 28 April 2025 to 6 June 2025. Key technical requirements include comprehensive inspection, disassembly, and repair of the exciter's components, including bearings, rotor, stator windings, commutator, and brushes, following specific IEEE and Coast Guard standards.
Contractor qualifications include demonstrating expertise in direct-current motor repair through case studies, technical documentation, and adherence to NEMA and EASA standards. The contractor must submit a detailed proposal including company information, qualifications, scope of work, project timeline, and cost breakdown. Evaluation will be based on providing the greatest value to the government, considering both price and technical capabilities. Additional requirements include registration in the System Award Management (SAM), Joint Certification Program (JCP), and submission of a Conditions Found Report within two days of receiving the exciter.
