Authorized Service Facility or on board the ship.

SO-26-001-2

7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED

7.1 Provide the services of a manufacturer’s authorized

service facility to procure the ship’s FM-200 Cylinder bottle No.16, installation and testing of the Ship’s FM200 in accordance with manufacturer's standards.

7.1.1 The authorized service rep shall accomplish

the following:

7.1.1.1 Procure the FM-200 Bottle Cylinder

No.16. Procurement shall include 607lbs of FM200 agent, associated flex/heavy duty flex/discharge hoses and shipping of the new cylinder bottle to MSC Korea Warehouse in Busan South Korea.

7.1.1.2 Provide labor of a minimum of one

Technical Representative to help install the new FM200 Bottle.

7.2 Coordinate with ship’s force to have the associated

equipment and system locked and/or tagged out per ship’s lock out/tag out policy to prevent accidental discharge.

When the maintenance is complete, coordinate with ship’s force to have associated equipment unlocked and/or tagged in per ship’s lock out/tag out policy.

7.2.1 Tag-out the fixed gas firefighting systems

and controls to prevent accidental discharge.

7.3 Prior to accomplishing any work, conduct a meeting

with the vessels Chief Engineer and OMT Rep to determine what ship’s equipment will be shut down by the testing.

It may be necessary to temporarily disconnect interlock circuits before beginning the work. Any ship’s circuits that are disconnected during the servicing must be re-connected and functionally tested when the servicing is completed to ensure the extinguishing system is operable.

7.4 Upon completion of the installation, test the FM-200

bottle.

7.4.1 Inspect all piping, controls, actuators, SO-26-001-3

remote pulls, valves, time delays, pressure switches, sirens and alarms, extinguishing agent, expelling means and physical condition to verify the system is in good order.

7.4.2 Visually examine all flexible hoses (hoses, loops,..) and their associated components connecting the high pressure cylinders and pilot cylinders to the distribution manifold/piping using the manufacturer’s recommendations as guidance. Submit a condition report identifying any found damaged, decayed, or unserviceable.

7.4.3 Verify the discharge piping and nozzles are

clear of any external obstructions. Nozzles should be inspected to ensure they have not been blocked or obstructed by the storage of spare parts or a new installation of structure or machinery.

7.4.4 Verify the discharge piping and nozzles are

clear of any internal obstructions. Isolate the discharge piping from the system and blow dry compressed air or nitrogen through the piping to confirm the pipework and nozzles are clear. To be demonstrated in the presence of an OMT Rep.

7.4.5 Verify all control/section valves are in the

correct position.

7.4.6 Visually inspect the boundaries of the

protected space to confirm that no modifications have been made to the enclosure that have created un-closeable openings that would render the system ineffective. If cylinders are installed inside the protected space, verify the integrity of the double release lines inside the protected space, and check low pressure or circuit integrity monitors on release cabinet, as applicable.

7.4.7 Check connections of all manifolds and

distribution piping for tightness.

SO-26-001-4

7.4.8 Upon successful completion, re-mark the

cylinders in accordance with 46 CFR §147.60 through 67.

7.4.9 Secure a tag or label to all cylinders

indicating inspection and maintenance was performed. The tag at a minimum is to include the type of extinguishing agent, test date (month/year) and name of test facility.

7.4.10 A leak test is to be performed proving the

cylinder is tight.

7.4.11 Coordinate and conduct a final functional

test demonstrating satisfactory operation of the fixed gas firefighting systems in the presence of OMT REP and ABS.

7.4.12 Upon completion of all inspections, tests

and repairs return the Firefighting Systems to a ready for service condition. Conduct a final walk around survey with the ships Master and OMT REP to verify status.

7.5 Submit a completion/trip report.
