The sheller must handle both individual ears and bulk samples of multiple ears with minimal kernel damage across a range of ear sizes. It needs adjustable settings to accommodate different varieties with a maximum cycle time of 20 seconds for bulks and 5 seconds for single ears. The sheller should thoroughly clean out between samples without carryover. Provisions are included for adding a seed transfer function and viewing windows to inspect cleanout. The unit must be easy to service and maintain using locally available components. Specifications are provided for 120V 60Hz operation.
